During the inter semester break we were given the opportunity to come into University 2 weeks before the start of second semester for a project just to keep us busy. The brief was to create a piece of artwork around the idea of hidden Salford. This was open to our interpretation so whether that meant looking into the Salford we found interesting or was special to us, or maybe finding things that many who live and work in Salford might not know about the place. Me and my group decided we wanted to explore Salford more first before we set ourselves on one idea.
We split into two teams to get the research faster so one of our team members went to Media city as she loved the setting and buildings whilst me and the rest of the team went to visit Salford Lads Club (which I hadn't known about). It was brilliant we were given a tour around the building and told about the history of it. Afterwards we took pictures of the surrounding area which included an abandoned church. I found the architecture really interesting.
