Griffiths' works are very dream like as they present a voyage of escapism. I love how Griffiths' mixes the abstract with reality to create this intimate relationship we feel it's almost like we are being shown his inner thoughts through the pieces. Using the theme of human, geometric and floral forms links with my idea to look at the natural world and make links with how it affects me, mentally. He works mainly with calligraphy inks, graphite and liquids; such as tea, brandy and vodka. The use of unconventional materials adds a depth and another dimension to his work, by using them to manipulate the drawn line. I want to start experimenting as Griffiths' does with the more unusual mediums and new techniques.
