Finally we could start printing so firstly we applied the ink to the metal plate. Then using some skrim I removed the excess ink to leave a thin layer of it over the plate. Hannah showed us that we can add highlights to our prints by using cotton buds to remove all the ink from small sections of my metal plate. Next we soaked the paper and dried it slightly with blotting paper so it was damp this was then placed on the press bed on top of newsprint paper. Next I placed the metal plate face down on the paper and then another piece of newsprint paper on top. Then it was a case of turning the press to print.
